What conversion rate optimization actually costs on Shopify in 2026
Last reviewed: 26 July 2026. Every price below was read from the vendor's own pricing surface on 26 July 2026 — the rendered page, its Shopify App Store listing, or the pricing script the page itself loads — with the billing toggle recorded. No aggregator, no listicle, no rival's blog.
The short version
A full stack at the floor — the cheapest published plan in each category that a brand this size can actually run on — is $1,642/mo, $19,704 a year. A fuller stack, priced at real scale with the tools those brands actually name, runs $6,856/mo, $82,272 a year. Both totals are built from the list prices below, line by line, and both show their working.
Two things drive the gap: the advertised entry price is the smallest band on the ladder, and the bigger stack buys three categories the floor never touches at all.
The most expensive line in either stack isn't on any invoice. It's the afternoon someone spends every month deciding which of seven dashboards is telling the truth about revenue.
The brand we're pricing
A page that says "a $5M brand" without showing the working is guessing. Here's the working.
| Input | Value | How it's derived |
|---|---|---|
| Annual GMV | $5,000,000 | the reference brand |
| Monthly GMV | $416,667 | ÷ 12 |
| AOV | $65 | stated assumption |
| Orders / month | ~6,400 | 416,667 ÷ 65 |
| Conversion rate | 2.0%–3.0% | stated band |
| Sessions / month | ~213,000–320,000 | 6,400 ÷ CR — 213,333 at 3.0%, 320,000 at 2.0% |
| Email active profiles | 50,000–100,000 | stated band |
Check this before you compare any two quotes: these tools don't bill on the same unit. Shoplift meters on total monthly website visitors, Replo on sessions, DebugBear and SpeedCurve on RUM page views, ABConvert on test orders, Klaviyo on active profiles, Intelligems and Visually on orders, Triple Whale on annual GMV. A number that looks cheap against one denominator is expensive against another, so every table below names the unit.
The six categories a CRO stack is made of
Ask "what are CRO tools" and most answers hand you an undifferentiated list. In practice a Shopify brand buys from six categories and owns something in most of them: the platform, a testing tool, a page builder, session replay and heatmaps, analytics and attribution, and error and performance monitoring. Email is the seventh line, and usually the biggest one after the platform.
1. Platform — Shopify
shopify.com/pricing, read 26 July 2026.
The headline prices are the pay-yearly rate — the page loads with the yearly
toggle already active. Both figures ship in the markup.
| Plan | Pay yearly | Pay monthly | 3rd-party fee | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $19/mo | $27/mo | 2% | a first store |
| Grow | $54/mo | $72/mo | 1% | the cheapest plan that can run Rollouts experiments |
| Advanced | $299/mo | $399/mo | 0.6% | brands processing off Shopify Payments — 0.6% instead of 1% |
| Plus | from $2,300/mo — a term price, not a billing toggle: $2,300 on a 3-year commitment, $2,500 on a 1-year. The advertised figure is the 36-month rate | — | 0.2% | full checkout customisation, unlimited staff, B2B |
The largest number on this page, and almost nobody writes it. If you process payments through a third-party provider instead of Shopify Payments, that percentage is a real line item: at $5M GMV, $30,000 a year on Advanced — $2,500 a month, more than the entire Shopify Plus subscription — and $10,000 a year on Plus. Most DTC brands use Shopify Payments and pay nothing here, which is exactly why the condition travels with the number. Check which side of it you're on first.
Pricing the Plus upgrade itself is its own decision: Mtrix vs Shopify Plus.
2. A/B testing and price testing
| Tool | Entry | At this brand's scale | Meters on | Best for | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shopify Rollouts | $0 — included | $0 | — | swapping one whole theme or checkout configuration for another, free | Rollouts run on Basic or higher; the A/B experiment needs Grow or higher. Since 5 June 2026 it covers checkout and customer-account configurations too. Whole configurations only, never elements, and no significance or confidence figure appears on its analytics page |
| ABConvert | $99/mo Starter (1,000 test orders) · $74 annual | Growth $199/mo ($149 annual), 5,000 test orders; overage +$39 per 1,000 | test orders, not total orders | the cheapest genuine price test in the set | Price testing isn't on Starter |
| Shoplift | $99/mo Core · $74 annual | Pro $699/mo, annual-commitment only on shoplift.ai — the same plan is $999/mo on their App Store listing | total monthly website visitors, not tested visitors | testing inside Shopify's own theme editor | Advanced caps at 100k visitors, so this brand is on Pro. Both first-party Pro prices are quoted because the two surfaces disagree. Their Core card is inconsistent with itself — "up to 50k" on the annual toggle, "up to 100k" on the monthly. Above Pro's 250k-visitor cap, no price is published on either surface (their band slider is JavaScript-rendered) |
| Intelligems | $69/mo Smart Content, App Store; Unlimited $349/mo on the same listing | On intelligems.io/pricing, the Unlimited bundle is $2,314/mo list, $1,279 discounted, "This plan requires a 3 month minimum," up to 200,000 orders/mo | sitewide order volume | margin testing against your own COGS | The same plan is $349 on the App Store and $1,279–$2,314 on their own site, read the same day. On the cheaper pricing tier, price testing means one price test per month. Checkout tests need Shopify Plus and the Unlimited plan |
| Visually.io | A free plan is listed, but it's development stores only | Their calculator at 7,500–10,000 orders/mo: launch $720 · pro $1,200 · scale $3,600 | net new DTC orders | brands that want testing billed on net-new orders only | App Store ladder stops at 600 orders/mo ($80). Price testing needs Shopify Plus and the pro or scale plan. The figure at 6,400 orders wasn't observed — don't interpolate it |

3. Page builder
| Tool | Entry | At scale | Meters on | Best for | Toggle / trap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PageFly | Free (1 slot) · Builder $24/mo | Accelerate $99/mo (unlimited slots) · Power $199 · Enterprise $299 / $499 / $999 | published page slots + AI credits | the cheapest route to unlimited landing pages | Their own page contradicts itself on the Optimize tier: the plan card says $39 (20 slots), the FAQ below it says $69 (50 slots). Both read the same day |
| GemPages | Free (1 page) · Build $29/mo | Optimize $59/mo · Enterprise $199/mo | published pages + sections | brands building sections as well as whole pages | Cards still show yearly prices, but their FAQ says "GemPages no longer offers the Yearly Plan to new customers." A new customer pays the monthly figure |
| Shogun | Draft $0 · Build $39/mo ($31 annual) | Grow $199/mo ($159) · Advanced $499/mo ($399) | published pages + monthly tested users | buying page building and testing as separate line items | Sold as four separate products — Page Builder, A/B Testing, Smart Pages, AI Sections — each with its own subscription. A/B Testing alone is $39 / $119 / $499 monthly |
| Replo | Free · Starter $99/mo | Pro $499/mo, or Starter plus session overage | sessions: Starter 100k included then $1.50 per 1,000; Pro 500k then $1.00 per 1,000 | DTC teams that want the builder and the test in one tool | $99 and $499 are the annual-billed monthly equivalents; the page loads with the annual toggle active and a "Save 17%" badge. The month-to-month rate is rendered in JavaScript and wasn't readable |
Replo's own overage rate, applied to this brand: at 213,000 sessions, Starter costs $99 + (113 × $1.50) = $268.50/mo. At 320,000 sessions it's $429/mo. Starter stays cheaper until about 367,000 sessions, where Pro's flat $499 — 500,000 sessions included, then $1.00 per 1,000 — takes over. The real gate is lower than the price gate: A/B testing is on the paid plans only, with 5,000 A/B-test sessions a month on Starter and 100,000 on Pro.
4. Session replay and heatmaps
| Tool | Entry | At 213k–320k sessions/mo | Meters on | Best for | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Clarity | $0 | $0 | nothing — no traffic limits, no sampling | free replay at any traffic volume | Replay retention is 30 days, heatmap data 9 months. The export API returns the last 1–3 days, capped at 1,000 rows. No experimentation engine |
| Lucky Orange | App Store Free (100 sessions) · $19/mo Launch | Expand $199/mo yearly ($249 monthly), starts at 50,000 sessions · Scale $839/mo yearly ($1,049 monthly), starts at 300,000 | monthly sessions | replay and heatmaps on one SMB bill | Two published price lists — luckyorange.com defaults to yearly, the App Store carries tiers the website doesn't. Discovery AI, their homepage headline, is a paid add-on |
| LogRocket | $0 (1k sessions) · $83/mo (10k) | 250k = $1,004/mo · 500k = $1,433/mo | sessions | teams that need true month-to-month, no annual lock | The one vendor here whose listed prices are month-to-month, and they say so. Final price still "depends on seats, retention length, and add-ons" |
| Hotjar |
Not purchasable. hotjar.com/pricing 308-redirects to Contentsquare; hotjar.com/signup/ returns 404
| — | — | — | Existing free accounts still work. Moving to Contentsquare is a full re-implementation: new tag, new CSP, no data carried |
| Contentsquare | Free — 200k sessions/mo, but 5% replay capture and a 10k replay ceiling. Growth's published ladder runs to 200k sessions at 739/mo pay-monthly (591 pay-yearly) | No published price between roughly 240k sessions and the Pro tier's 1M floor | monthly sessions | Hotjar accounts that now have to move somewhere | Defaults to pay-yearly. Cards render in € on an EU IP and $ in their own plan selector — identical numerals. Voice of Customer is a separate subscription on top. Product Analytics carries no public price on any tier |
| FullStory | Free — 30,000 sessions/mo, 12-month retention, 10 users | No published price on any paid tier. Every CTA is "Request pricing & demo" | not published | brands that fit inside the 30,000-session free tier | Mobile, Guides & Surveys and StoryAI are paid add-ons on every tier, Enterprise included. Email support is paid-only |
A brand at ~250,000 sessions sits above Contentsquare's published Growth ladder and below its Pro floor. In that gap Contentsquare publishes nothing — the moment a self-serve purchase becomes a sales call.
5. Analytics and attribution
| Tool | Entry | At $5M GMV / ~6,400 orders | Meters on | Best for | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Triple Whale | Free $0 | Card prices rendered on their pricing page, 26 July 2026: Starter $179 · Advanced $259 · Professional $749 · Custom $539 | annual GMV over the last 12 months | paid-media attribution in one dashboard | The recommended-plan price is computed in JavaScript from a GMV slider and wasn't statically readable — only the named cards are quoted here. Retention (+$19) and Conversion (+$79) are add-ons |
| Lifetimely (by AMP) | Free (≤50 orders/mo) · $79/mo (≤500) | L $299/mo — the 3,001–7,000 orders tier | monthly orders | profit and LTV per order, cheaply | Above the entry tier: $149 (≤3,000 orders) / $299 (≤7,000) / $499 (≤15,000) / $749 (≤25,000) / $999. Amazon data +$75/mo. The App Store listing says "Free to install" — the real charges are external |
| Northbeam | "Starting at $1,500 per month" | $1,500/mo below $1.5M/yr media spend; quote only above | pageview volume, plus level of service | paid-media-heavy brands; the published $1,500 covers spend under $1.5M/yr | Plan eligibility is gated on media spend, not GMV — their words: "Lower than $1.5m a year in media spend." Professional and Enterprise are both "contact us." Starter bills monthly; the higher tiers are annual terms |
| Polar Analytics | No published price at all | Quote only | annual GMV bands | buyers willing to take a sales call first |
Every price on their pricing page renders as the literal placeholder string <price>. Every CTA is "Book a demo." Their five products are priced individually
|
6. Error and performance monitoring
| Tool | Entry | At this brand's scale | Meters on | Best for | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sentry | Developer $0 (1 user, 5k errors) | Team $26/mo · Business $80/mo, both labelled "When billed annually with default pre-paid data" | prepaid quota plus pay-as-you-go | front-end error triage with source maps | The included session-replay quota on every plan — Developer, Team and Business — is 50 replays. Fifty. Logs are +$0.50/GB, uptime +$1.00/alert, cron +$0.78/monitor. Retention is 30 days on Developer, up to 90 on Team and Business |
| DebugBear | Intro $69/mo ($49 annual) | Team $325/mo ($249) — 500,000 RUM page views; a 500k RUM add-on is +$75/mo, so $400–$475/mo in practice, or Corporate at $899 | test runs/day + RUM page views + projects | real-user monitoring on a published price | A brand at 213k–320k sessions is well past 500k page views |
| SpeedCurve | "Starting at $90/month" | Growth "starting at $576/month" | $135 per 1M RUM page views + $15 per 1,000 synthetic checks — the formula is published in their own pricing script | synthetic monitoring and competitive benchmarking | Loads with the 20% annual discount already applied. 13-month retention needs >$500/mo spend; SSO and private agents need an annual plan and >$12k/yr |
7. Email — where the real number hides
Klaviyo's headline is a free plan. The curve isn't rendered on the page — it's computed in the browser from a data table that ships in Klaviyo's own JavaScript asset. Read verbatim on 26 July 2026: US list prices, monthly figures, no annual toggle on the email ladder.
| Active profiles | $/mo | Sends included |
|---|---|---|
| 0 – 250 | $0 | 500 |
| 6,501 – 10,000 | $150 | 100,000 |
| 20,001 – 25,000 | $400 | 250,000 |
| 45,001 – 50,000 | $720 | 500,000 |
| 95,001 – 100,000 | $1,380 | 1,000,000 |
| 200,001 – 250,000 | $2,300 | 2,000,000 |
| 250,001 + |
no published price — the data returns -1
| — |
$720/mo at 50,000 profiles. $1,380/mo at 100,000 — email alone, before SMS. That's $8,640–$16,560 a year for one line item. SMS is a separate credit ladder (25,000 credits $225/mo, 100,000 $900), social is a third, and Marketing Analytics and the Klaviyo CDP are priced separately with no public figure.
Two totals. Both labelled. Neither is a quote.

The floor: $1,642/mo · $19,704/yr
The cheapest published plan in each category that a $5M brand can actually run on. The last column is why the cheaper tier below it doesn't work.
| Line item | Plan | $/mo | Billing | Why not the cheaper tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Platform | Shopify Advanced | 299 | pay yearly (399 monthly) | Grow is $54 — see the note below, this is the one judgement call in the table |
| A/B and price testing | ABConvert Growth, 5,000 test orders | 199 | monthly (149 annual) | Starter ($99) carries no price testing and caps at 1,000 test orders; this brand does ~6,400 orders/mo |
| Page builder | PageFly Accelerate | 99 | monthly | Builder ($24) and Optimize ($39 on the card, $69 in the FAQ) cap published page slots; Accelerate is the first unlimited tier |
| Replay and heatmaps | Microsoft Clarity | 0 | — | nothing cheaper exists |
| Profit / LTV analytics | Lifetimely L | 299 | monthly | S ($79) caps at 500 orders/mo |
| Error monitoring | Sentry Team | 26 | annual, default prepaid data | Developer is $0 but caps at 1 user and 5,000 errors |
| Klaviyo, 50,000 profiles | 720 | monthly | metered on profiles — there is no cheaper band at 50,000 | |
| Total | $1,642/mo | $19,704/yr |
Say the quiet part about the platform row. Advanced at $299 rather than Grow at $54 is a judgement, and it's the one line here you could argue with. It's on Advanced because the third-party processor fee drops from 1% to 0.6% — worth $20,000 a year at $5M GMV if you're off Shopify Payments — and because third-party carrier-calculated shipping, which Intelligems' own docs say requires "the Advanced or Shopify Plus plan", is what shipping-rate tests run on. If you're on Shopify Payments and don't test shipping, run Grow and take $245/mo off: $1,397/mo, $16,764/yr.
Not included: attribution, performance monitoring, SMS, and the third-party processor fee. At $5M GMV this stack is 0.39% of revenue.
The fuller stack: $6,856/mo · $82,272/yr
Not the same stack — a bigger one. It's the tools a $5M brand actually names, and it adds the three categories the floor leaves out (attribution, RUM performance and SMS) on top of higher tiers of the same seven.
Everything session-metered is priced at 320,000 sessions a month — the top of the band, i.e. a 2% conversion rate. Shoplift is the exception, because it meters on unique visitors rather than sessions: at an assumed 1.4 sessions per visitor — our assumption, not theirs — 320,000 sessions is about 229,000 visitors, inside Pro's 250,000-visitor card cap. Use your own ratio. At 1.0 this brand is past that cap, and Shoplift publishes no price above it.
| Line item | Plan | $/mo | Billing | New category? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Platform | Shopify Plus | 2,300 | 3-year term (2,500 on 1 year) | — |
| A/B and price testing | Shoplift Pro | 699 | annual-only on shoplift.ai (999/mo on their App Store listing) | — |
| Page builder | Replo Starter + 220k session overage @ $1.50/1k | 429 | annual-billed rate | — |
| Replay and heatmaps | Lucky Orange Scale ("starts with 300,000" sessions) | 839 | yearly (1,049 monthly) | — |
| Attribution | Triple Whale Advanced — card price | 259 | monthly; the $5M-GMV band-to-plan mapping is slider-computed and not statically published | yes |
| Profit / LTV | Lifetimely L | 299 | monthly | — |
| Error monitoring | Sentry Team | 26 | annual | — |
| Performance (RUM) | DebugBear Team + one 500k RUM add-on | 400 | monthly | yes |
| Klaviyo, 100,000 profiles | 1,380 | monthly | — | |
| SMS | Klaviyo, 25,000 credits | 225 | monthly | yes |
| Total | $6,856/mo | $82,272/yr |
Where the $5,214 gap actually comes from. $884 is category expansion — attribution, RUM performance and SMS, three lines the floor doesn't buy at all. The other $4,330 is the same seven categories at higher tiers. Anyone can count the rows; that's the count.
Two qualifications, because a total that reads as inflated is worthless. This is a composition, not a quote — it assumes a brand on Plus carrying 100,000 email profiles, sending SMS, and paying for both replay and RUM. Plenty of $5M brands run half of it. And it sits at the top of the traffic band: at 213,000 sessions Replo drops to $268.50 and the brand falls below Lucky Orange's Scale tier, but Lucky Orange doesn't publish what Expand costs above its own 50,000-session start, so a consistent low-end total isn't derivable and isn't invented here. Billing bases are mixed on purpose: each row uses the figure the vendor's own page leads with, and the Billing column says which.
At $5M GMV this stack is 1.65% of revenue. Add the processor fee if you're off Shopify Payments: +$833/mo on Plus, +$2,500/mo on Advanced.
What the advertised price hides
Four patterns run across every table above. Once you can see them, you can price a quote before you get on the call.
- The advertised price is the smallest band, and the capability you came for is one tier up. Intelligems lists $69; the same product's Unlimited bundle is $1,279–$2,314/mo on their own pricing page. Price testing isn't on ABConvert's Starter. A/B testing isn't on Replo's free plan, and Starter meters it at 5,000 test sessions a month. Sentry includes 50 session replays on every plan, Business included.
- Prices default to annual and show the monthly equivalent. Shopify, Replo and Contentsquare all load with the yearly toggle already active; SpeedCurve pre-applies its 20% annual discount; Sentry's $26 and $80 both carry "when billed annually." LogRocket is the exception, and says so.
- The term is the commitment. Plus is 1-year or 3-year and the advertised $2,300 is the 36-month rate; Intelligems' Unlimited plan states "This plan requires a 3 month minimum"; Shoplift Pro is annual-only on their own site; SpeedCurve gates SSO behind an annual plan.
- At the top of every ladder, the price disappears. Klaviyo above 250,000 profiles, Contentsquare above roughly 240,000 sessions, Shoplift above 250,000 visitors, Northbeam above $1.5M/yr media spend, Polar and FullStory at every tier. "Quote only" isn't a gap in this research — it's the finding.
The line item with no invoice
That's the visible half. Here's the other one.
Seven surfaces, seven definitions of revenue
Each one is defensible on its own terms. None of them will agree, and the reconciling is a monthly job with no invoice attached.
- Shopify Analytics orders, gross and net sales
- Triple Whale / Northbeam / Polar attributed revenue by channel
- Lifetimely net profit per order, after COGS
- Klaviyo revenue attributed to a flow or campaign
- The testing app revenue or profit per visitor, per variant
- The page builder per-page revenue and conversion rate
- GA4, where it’s still installed sessions and ecommerce revenue
Which one is right?
Somebody has to decide. Then decide again next month, and the month after that.
Seven surfaces, seven revenue numbers
| Surface | What it calls revenue | Why it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify Analytics | orders, gross and net sales | the system of record — everything else is modelled against it |
| Triple Whale / Northbeam / Polar | attributed revenue by channel | pixel-based multi-touch attribution with its own lookback window |
| Lifetimely | net profit per order, after COGS | a different denominator entirely |
| Klaviyo | revenue attributed to a flow or campaign | its own attribution window, applied per message |
| The testing app | revenue or profit per visitor, per variant | Intelligems reports profit per visitor against your COGS; Shoplift runs Bayesian predictive analysis; ABConvert meters on test orders |
| The page builder | per-page revenue and conversion rate | Replo's own feature list offers "fractional attribution" — a fourth attribution model inside the same stack |
| GA4, where it's still installed | sessions and ecommerce revenue | a fifth model, with its own definition of a session |
Every one of those is defensible on its own terms. None of them will agree. So before anyone can decide what to do, someone has to decide which dashboard to believe — and that decision comes back every month, forever. Unlike the subscriptions, it doesn't get cheaper at scale.
And the categories where brands quietly pay twice
- A/B testing — bought as a dedicated app and bundled into the page builder. PageFly ships it from the Optimize tier, Replo on every paid tier (5,000 A/B-test sessions a month on Starter, 100,000 on Pro), Shogun sells it as a separate $39–$499 product.
- Session replay and heatmaps — Clarity and Lucky Orange and LogRocket and PageFly's heatmap preview and Sentry's 50-replay quota. Four or five capture scripts, four or five retention policies and privacy configurations to keep straight.
- Performance — Sentry and DebugBear and SpeedCurve and Shopify's own Web Performance dashboard, all measuring Core Web Vitals on the same store.
- Profit and LTV — Lifetimely and Triple Whale and Polar all model contribution margin.
Each of those is also a tag on your storefront. We won't put a page-speed number on that — no vendor here publishes one you could defend, and Shoplift publishes "about a 2-4 point reduction in page speed" on its pricing page and "approximately a 2-point reduction" in its docs. What is published, and worth quoting whole: Shoplift's anti-flicker script "momentarily blanks out your pages to ensure shoppers don't see new experiences, but this is typically resolved within 150 milliseconds (and as low as 90 milliseconds)" — and Intelligems ships two anti-flicker modes, one of which hides the entire body. Four scripts each doing a version of that is a cost, even unpriced.
Where a best-of-breed stack genuinely wins
Consolidation is a trade, not a free lunch. Four reasons to keep the stack you have:
Per-tool depth is real. Klaviyo's deliverability infrastructure, segmentation and flow library are the category standard, and no consolidated platform matches them. Northbeam and Triple Whale do multi-touch attribution and media-mix modelling a storefront platform does not do. Sentry does source maps, release health and cross-language SDKs. SpeedCurve does synthetic monitoring and competitive benchmarking. Contentsquare does zone-based analytics. Intelligems reports against your own COGS.
Some of these tools are close to free, and consolidating replaces them with something that isn't. Clarity is $0, unsampled, at any traffic volume. Rollouts is included. MIDA (mida-app.io) is $44.90 for 40,000 sessions on its Shopify App Store listing. PageFly Accelerate is $99. If your stack is Clarity + PageFly + Klaviyo, you're under $850/mo and consolidation is a cost increase. Don't do it because a page told you to.
Modularity has value. Drop any one tool without touching the others. A platform is one decision with one failure mode.
Switching is real work. Contentsquare's own migration FAQ is the proof text: "data migration isn't available… set it up from scratch," a new tracking tag, and "your existing CSP settings won't carry over." That cost applies to any consolidation, onto any platform, Mtrix included.
And if the gap is that nobody will own experimentation, more software won't fix it. Buy the hours, not another subscription — that arithmetic is its own page.
What one platform actually absorbs
Mtrix is one subscription. Pricing is flat across three tiers, with no metered line on sessions, orders or profiles — so the bill doesn't move when a good month arrives. That's the whole pricing paragraph; the useful question is which of the rows above stop existing.
There are two answers, because there are two ways to run Mtrix, and conflating them is how these pages get caught.
| Mtrix on the Shopify store you already have | Store built on Mtrix | |
|---|---|---|
| What runs | Experiments, session replay, heatmaps, analytics, error tracking and Core Web Vitals — one script | All of the above, plus the platform, the visual builder, hosting, catalog and checkout |
| Rows from the fuller stack it absorbs | Shoplift 699 · Lucky Orange 839 · Sentry 26 · DebugBear 400 | those four, plus Shopify Plus 2,300 and Replo 429 |
| Absorbed | $1,964/mo · $23,568/yr | $4,693/mo · $56,316/yr |
| Still a separate bill | Shopify Plus, Replo, Triple Whale, Lifetimely, Klaviyo, SMS — $4,892/mo | Triple Whale, Lifetimely, Klaviyo, SMS — $2,163/mo |
Read the middle column before the right one. On a store that stays on Shopify, Mtrix gives you measurement and experimentation. It does not edit your Shopify theme with its builder, it does not vary prices on your Shopify store, and Shopify's checkout stays Shopify's. The builder, price testing and the checkout are reasons to move to Mtrix, not things you bolt onto Shopify. Error tracking and Core Web Vitals capture ride the same script as replay and analytics, so both columns count them.
Included rather than sold as add-ons: no cap on experiments — not concurrent, not monthly, not by tier. 100% of sessions captured, sampling an opt-in control rather than a plan limit. No Mtrix transaction fee, payment-processor fees only. Monthly or annual, no 1-year or 3-year term. Hosting, domain, SSL and staging. And code export, so leaving is a decision rather than a hostage negotiation.
What it doesn't replace, by name. Klaviyo — Mtrix has an email builder with event-triggered and scheduled sends, but it isn't a full ESP and has no deliverability infrastructure. Triple Whale and Northbeam — no multi-touch attribution or MMM. Lifetimely — Mtrix reports revenue, not contribution margin after COGS. No native iOS or Android SDK, no voice-of-customer product, no app marketplace, and no managed service: Mtrix helps you migrate and set up, but your team runs the experiments. Retention is 3 years on events and purchases and 1 month on replay and errors — longer than Clarity's 30 days, shorter than FullStory's free 12 months.
Audit your own stack in an afternoon
- Pull every SaaS line off twelve months of card statements — not the ones you remember, the ones that renewed.
- Write the metering unit next to each. Sessions, visitors, orders, test orders, profiles, page views, GMV. Anything you can't name is a bill you can't forecast.
- Circle every tool that reports a revenue number. More than two means somebody reconciles them. Find out who, and how long it takes.
- Check what you're paying twice for — heatmaps, replay, A/B testing and performance are the usual four — and check every renewal date and term. Annual-only plans and 3-year platform terms decide when you can change anything at all.
- Divide the total by your annual GMV. Under 0.5% and you're probably under-instrumented. Past 2% and something in the list isn't earning it.
Price your own stack
Every plan in these ten menus is a price from the tables above, read from the vendor's own surface on 26 July 2026. Nothing is estimated and nothing is interpolated.

$225/mo
On the Shopify store you already have. Experiments, session replay, heatmaps and analytics — your testing and replay/heatmap lines. The builder, price testing and the checkout are reasons to move, not things you bolt on.
$623/mo
Store built on Mtrix. Those two, plus the platform, the page builder, error monitoring and Core Web Vitals.
Attribution, profit modelling, email and SMS stay a separate bill either way. Error monitoring and performance are counted in the right-hand figure only — the open question about a stays-on-Shopify install is flagged in the section above, and this figure moves with it.
